Paul barbaro

Event Director, Mushroom Group

Paul has worked with the Mushroom Group since 2012, specialising in running tours and major events.

Paul started his company ‘Good Life Festival’ in 2010 and merged with the Mushroom group in 2012. A music festival designed for under 18’s, Good Life features a stack of free attractions which include sport activities, carnival rides, cinema screenings, video games, market stalls, chill out zones and a whole lot more. Good Life not only attracted crowds of up to 25,000  kids in each city, but also some of the world’s leading artists including Avicii, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Rudimental, Skrillex, Marshmello, Rita Ora, Lil Uzi Vert & many more.

Since joining the Mushroom Group, Paul has been responsible for creating Australia’s largest club night, ‘RnB Fridays Club’ which sees 6 clubs nights across 4 states running every single Friday Night, as well as a range of diverse tours including ‘Walker Stalker Convention Australia’. Walker Stalker Con is the largest zombie, horror and sci-fi convention in the WORLD, with more than 250,000 attendees globally across three countries and twelve cities. The Australian leg saw thousands of fans embarking on the Sydney and Melbourne Showgrounds in February 2018 and treated to two full days of one-of-a-kind experiences, exclusive panels, cosplay, and celebrity guests.

Paul is also the event director for Australia & New Zealand’s largest RnB Concert ‘RNB Fridays Live’. In November 2016, Australia’s biggest radio network and most successful touring promoter teamed up to deliver one of the most talked-about concert events in recent years. The Hit Network teamed up with Frontier Touring and Illusive Presents to transform their juggernaut radio brand ‘RNB Fridays’ into a special, large-scale concert series. Sell out shows over the first 2 years saw the event grew to stadiums in 2018 with over 200,000 fans enjoying some of the world’s biggest RNB artists from Usher to Nelly to Salt N Pepa.

Pauls most ambitious project for the Mushroom Group was launching the all new concept of Immersive Cinema. The inaugural event invited guests to step into the world of the iconic Dirty Dancing movie. The event teleported visitors back to the summer of ’63 at Kellerman’s Mountain House. Over 100 actors and dancer guided visitors through the expansive hotel grounds where you can enjoy an array of arts, craft and sports activities, all while the story of Baby & Johnny unfolded around them in real time, amongst life-size recreations of the iconic Kellerman’s resort. As the sun set, guests grabbed some popcorn and relived one of the greatest love stories on the big screen right under the stars.
